About This Resource
This material is the signature music education content of the GoDoongDoong Symphony channel. It is a papertoy guide that involves cutting out and folding flat templates with scissors to create three-dimensional finger puppets.
The character's belly prominently displays a large depiction of the 'on-shim-pyo' (a musical rest symbol), helping children naturally become familiar with both the shape and name of the symbol as they assemble the puppet.

[Recommended Lesson Flow]
Introduction (5 minutes): Discuss why "resting" is as important as "playing" in music. Introduce the character "Onshimpo Koamong," who always wants to rest, using a video to spark interest.
Development (25 minutes): Pause the video at intervals to assemble the template step by step.
Assembly order: Make the head ➔ Attach the ears ➔ Fold the body and arms ➔ Punch holes for the fingers ➔ Attach the head to the body
Each time you find the gluing area (marked with a star), reinforce the concept by saying, "This is Koamong’s 4-beat rest spot!"
Conclusion (10 minutes): Place the completed Koamong on your finger and play music while performing the "rest note play." When the song reaches a rest note section, raise the Koamong high and silently count "one, two, three, four," executing a full stop with your body movement.
[Guidance Notes (Safety Guide)]
Finger hole punching: This step involves cutting an X-shaped slit with a knife in a square groove to insert fingers. Because this part can be dangerous for children, teachers or guardians must supervise closely and either perform the cutting themselves or prepare the slits in advance.
